Moses
Downtown Greenville Legend
Long before the parking decks went up, Moses was the man running the night club parking lots of downtown Greenville. For decades he was a fixture of the scene — keeping the bars clean, watching over the block, and holding it down night after night with the kind of quiet dignity that earns real respect. He was a cornerstone of this community before most people even knew his name.
Moses has been part of the Omars family for as long as anyone can remember. A true original — the kind of person who makes a place feel like home.
Son of Moses
Petey Pablo
Moses's son Moses Barrett III — known to the world as Petey Pablo — put Greenville, NC on the map in a way no one had before. His 2001 debut single "Raise Up" became a hip-hop anthem and a battle cry for North Carolina pride, with the iconic line "This one's for North Carolina — c'mon and raise up." Petey went on to record with Timbaland, appear in major films, and build a career that made the whole state proud. But to Greenville, he'll always be Moses's son — born right here in Pirate Country.
